2009 HIGHLIGHTS
- Ten members attended the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Awards Breakfast in the Villages.
- Welcomed new member Connie Glasco.
- Listed on amazonSmile as a charitable organization which entitles us to 0.5% of purchase price when selected.
- Received thank you letters from Leesburg High School and Elementary School for the Thanksgiving baskets.
- All yearly dues paid by members.
- Club attended the Motown the Musical in Orlando.
- Members had a bowling outing at the AMF Bowling Lanes in Leesburg.
- Golf Tournament held at Arlington Ridge enabled us to provide six $1,000 scholarships.
- Club made a donation for the Pavilion Kitchen project.
- Annual picnic held and some scholarship recipients and their families attended.
- Successful soul Train Dance held at the Manor enabling us to provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Members attended the Clearwater Jazz Festival.
- Club voted to be a platinum sponsor ($300) at the Villages golf tournament and 3 members donated $200.
- Several members attended the Royal Highlands Christmas Gala.
- Two members agreed to represent the club for the Young Performing Artists Soul Food Festival held in February
- Provided 9 Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets (3 each to Elementary, Middle and High School). Two club members provided and additional 2 baskets to the Elementary School for Thanksgiving.
- Following members elected and will start a two year term in January 2016.

2014 HIGHLIGHTS
- New Vice President – Larry Prince and new Social Committee Chairman – Mary Prince took office.
- Motion made and passed to purchase green shirts.
- Motion made and passed to purchase letterhead and envelopes.
- Budget for Golf Tournament approved.
- Members attended the MLK Commemorative Awards Breakfast in the Villages.
- Club members attended Royal Highlands cabaret.
- Copy of magazine that had ad we purchased for the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity was distributed.
- Larry Prince started a 6 week program for males: “Man in the Mirror”.
- Joe Morales donated a 32 inch television for the soul train raffle.
- Club covered the cost of Ed Hill’s repast.
- All yearly due were paid.
- Members had a bowling outing at the AMF Bowling Lanes in Leesburg.
- Special meeting held to finalize details for golf tournament.
- Golf tournament held. We had 76 golfers.
- BP Auto Spa donated 10% of their sales from the 1st week on April for our Scholarship Fund.
- Six $1,000 scholarships were awarded to six seniors from Leesburg High School and members attended the award ceremony.
- Motion made and passed to sponsor the Beverly Shores Elementary School luncheons for Fathers and Mothers. Members of the club participated in the luncheons.
- Members decided to attend Motown the Musical in March 2015.
- Annual picnic was held and several scholarship recipients and their families attended.
- Finalized details for Soul Train Dance.
- A Successful Soul Train Dance was held at the Manor located on the Plantation enabling us to provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Members attended the Clearwater Jazz Festival.
- Club agreed to provide 9 baskets each for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Thanksgiving baskets were delivered to the elementary, middle and high schools.
- Christmas Celebration was held at the Pavilion.
- Several members attended the Royal Highlands Christmas Gala.
- Food baskets were provided to families of Leesburg.
2013 HIGHLIGHTS
- The new and improved website (AAHCP-FL.com) is now available. This informative website tells our story. It lists our accomplishments. Email from the website goes to the President, Vice President and Secretary.
- The trifold used to solicit players and sponsors was distributed. Letters for prospective sponsors are ready for mailing.
- Barbara Fischer was recognized for her outstanding service as Social Committee Chairman for 2012.
- End of the year celebration was held in Jan.
- The 2013 budget was approved.
- The club’s scrapbook is available to travel among our members. It can be utilized to show others what this organization has accomplished.
- Yearly dues were collected.
- BP-Auto will donate a portion of their profits from March 25-31 to the Golf Tournament.
- Members had a bowling outing at the AMF Bowling Lanes in Leesburg.
- Special meeting held to finalize details for golf tournament.
- The golf tournament was cancelled after being rescheduled due to weather. Golfers received gift certificates for a round of golf and lunch at Continental Country Club and Golf Course. They also were given goodie bags.
- Six $1,000 scholarships were awarded to six seniors from Leesburg High School.
- Annual picnic was held at the Plantation’s newly constructed pavilion. Several scholarship recipients and their families attended. They received gift bags stocked with items for college.
- Finalized details for Soul Train Dance.
- A Successful Soul Train Dance was held at the Manor located on the Plantation enabling us to provided food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Members attended the Clearwater Jazz Festival.
- Two teams attended the Villages Golf Tournament.
- Members attended a Black Comedy Show in Clermont.
- Food Baskets were provided to families of Leesburg.
- Christmas Celebration was held at Vic Embers in Leesburg.
- Several members attended the Royal Highlands Christmas Gala.

2012 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Golf Committee distributed tri-fold documents to members to use to solicit players and sponsors for The third Annual AAHCP Scholarship Golf Tournament.
- Larry Prince appointed as club Correspondence Secretary
- Several AAHCP members attended the 2012 Martin Luther King Commemorative Breakfast held in the Villages.
- Received state and federal approval designating AAHCP as a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) charitable organization.
- BP Auto Spa, a perennial sponsor of AAHCP scholarship efforts presented 10% of the weekly proceeds from the business, in support of the AAHCP 2012 scholarship drive.
- New club letterhead adopted and purchased reflecting the corporate identification received in conjunction with the club's 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) designation.
- AAHCP sponsors its third annual Golf Tournament at the Continental Country Club and Golf Course located in Wildwood New Jersey.
- The African American Heritage Trophy was presented to Royal Highlands African Heritage Club for having the winning team during the 2012 AAHCP Golf Tournament.
- Dick Vlaha, an AAHCP supporter created and presented a professional DVD of the third annual golf tournament to the club.
- Debbie Richardson presented the club scrapbook that she had been working on. It was well received by club members for a job well done.
- Five $1000.00 scholarships were awarded to five seniors from the 2012 graduating class of Leesburg High School during the Senior Awards Assembly.
- The third annual AAHCP Picnic was held at Rogers Park in Leesburg with two 2012 scholarship recipients and their family members in attendance.
- A "sold out" Soul Train Dance III was held at "the Manor" located on the Plantation subdivision at Leesburg, FL.
- Food Baskets were provided to six families in the Leesburg Community during the 2012 Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays respectively. Additionally, one family was selected and received children's clothing and toys during the Christmas holiday.
- Several members attended the 2012 Royal Highlands Christmas Gala.
2011HIGHLIGHTS
- The Golf Committee distributed tri-fold documents to members to use to solicit players and sponsors for The second Annual AAHCP Scholarship Golf Tournament.
- Several AAHCP members attended the 2011 Martin Luther King Commemorative Breakfast held in the Villages.
- Club members approved monies for the development of an AAHCP scrapbook to be constructed by member Debbie Richardson.
- April 2011- AAHCP notified by ONYX Magazine to provide information about the club. This was in support of the magazine's selection of AAHCP as a recipient of the Magazine's Public Service Award.
- Five $1000.00 scholarships, were awarded to five seniors from the 2011 graduating class of Leesburg High School during the 2011 Senior Awards Assembly.
- Serious discussions begun by club members to start research on seeking to apply for 501(c) (3) tax exempt status.
- The African American Heritage Trophy was presented to the winning team from the Villages during the 2011 AAHCP Golf Tournament.
- Several Members attended the NJ PEEPS gala in Tampa Florida
- Several members attended the Clearwater Jazz Festival in Clearwater, Florida
- IX. Six AAHCP members attended the ONYX Magazine Awards Banquet to receive the Magazine's Public Service Award on behalf of the club.
- New Officers elected: Mary Whorley, Treasurer, Mary Prince Assistant Treasurer, Debbie Richardson, Secretary and Henry Byrd, Assistant Secretary.
- The second annual AAHCP Picnic was held at Rogers Park in Leesburg with four 2011 scholarship recipients and their family members in attendance.
- A "sold out" Soul Train Dance II was held at "the Manor" located on the Plantation subdivision at Leesburg, FL.
- Food Baskets were provided to seven families during the 2012 Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays respectively. Additionally, one family was selected and received children's clothing and toys during the Christmas holiday.
- Several AAHCP attended the Royal Highlands Christmas Gala.
- The Third Annual AAHCP Christmas Party and Pot Luck Dinner was held at Rogers Park in Leesburg.
2010 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Golf Committee distributed tri-fold documents to members to use to solicit players and sponsors for The first Annual AAHCP Scholarship Golf Tournament.
- The Golf Committee began Preliminary discussion with Leesburg High School officials, declaring the intention of AAHCP to provide a scholarship to a 2010 graduating senior.
- Vendor Investigation was begun by Jay Richardson to determine the cost of AAHCP T-shirts and Caps.
- Several AAHCP members attended the Martin Luther King Commemorative Breakfast held in the Villages
- Member Joe Morales Received recognition from Oak Park Middle School for his participation as a guest presenter for their AVIDS (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program.
- Art and Mary Whorley introduced the idea of a "Heritage Cup"; a special Golf Tournament honor trophy to be competed for by three local communities that have teams in the tournament: AAHCP, Royal Highlands and The Villages.
- Members placed orders for T-shirts and caps, bearing the AAHCP Logo.
- AAHCP sponsors its first annual Golf Tournament at Cranes Roost Golf Course located on the Plantation subdivision at Leesburg, FL
- $3000.00 scholarship awarded toDebreah Lacey, 2010 Leesburg, HS graduating senior during the Senior Awards Assembly.
- First Annual AAHCP Picnic held at the Plantation Oaks Restaurant.
- First Annual Soul Train Dance held at "the Manor" located on the Plantation subdivision at Leesburg, FL.
- Based on specific criteria including cost, upgraded amenities and space to support the event; a decision was made to hold the second AAHCP Golf Tournament (April15, 2011) at the Continental Country Club in Wildwood Florida.
- Membership voted to adopt and procure personalized AAHCP Letterhead and matching envelopes for organizational correspondence.
- Thanksgiving Food Baskets were provided to 4 families in the Leesburg Community.
- XV. Christmas Food Baskets were provided to four families in the Leesburg Community and additionally one family was provided with several items of new clothing and toys for the children in the family.
- December 10-The second annual AAHCP Christmas Social and Pot Luck Party was held at Ashley Hall.
2009 HIGHLIGHTS
- August 7 - Initial meeting of club.
- Name adopted for club-AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE CLUB OF THE PLANTATION (AAHCP).
- By Laws Committee formed: Barbara Fischer, Barbara Taylor, Edwin Moye, Art Whorley (chairman), and Bill Viands
- August 28 - Club By-Laws adopted(By-Law Committee designated as Nomination Committee to provide an initial slate of officers).
- Initial Officers elected were: Stanley Fischer, President, Art Whorley, Vice-President, Jennifer Baptiste, Secretary, Edwin Moye, Asst-Secretary, Rosemary Green, Treasurer, and Mary Whorley, Asst. Treasurer.
- Initial Committee Chairpersons elected were: Barbara Taylor: Outreach ; Sunshine Committee: Edwin Moye; Social Committee: Debbie Richardson.
- Barbara Taylor briefed members on Members were briefed on mentoring opportunities at Oak Park Middle school and several members accepted the challenge.
- Discussion was initiated on the idea of sponsoring a golf tournament with the idea in mind of providing scholarships to graduating seniors at Leesburg High School.
- Member Mary Whorley received recognition from Oak Park Middle School for her presentation on her profession as an FBI agent to students at the school.
- December 11-The first annual AAHCP Christmas Social and Pot Luck Party was held at Ashley Hall.
